Focus on what is important! What are the priorities? The rapid pace of change means that we can NEVER teach them all that they need to know. Family time is limited. Before long they ve grown up, are teenagers and don t want to know. It is important that we use the family time that we have to address the priorities. Focus on what is important! What are the essential attributes that we need to instill in our children to ensure that they are productive, contributing members of society? The 3 R s (reading, writing and rithmetic) are a start but there is a lot more. Try writing a list of all of the traits that you would like your children to be when they eventually leave your house as adults.
